Since I've been a student for many years, I want to share a critical money saving travel tip for students on a budget!
International Student Identity Card - Recognized Worldwide |
Most student discounts require a valid student ID with an expiration date (for traveling outside the US). Since many school's IDs don't have expiration dates on them, I'd highly recommend picking up an International Student Identity Card (ISIC card) either online or at STA travel, a great student travel agency. Personally, I've used this card for student discounts on train tickets in Norway, the Viking Museum in Sweden, the Colosseum in Rome, as well as the Sydney Zoo!
Viking Museums in Scandinavia even offer student discounts! |
ISIC's website lists student deals in many cities around the world. In addition to specific discounts, students can also get discounts on transportation (rail, bus, ferry and airplane tickets) and travel packages! Check out STA travel's website for student-specific discounts, as well as Student Universe for student airfare!
And for those no longer students..check out AAA. You get much more than roadside assistance for your money. Older (55+)? Check AARP.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good advice!!!
